This song..

One Republic- “Apologize”

I’m holdin’ on your rope,
Got me ten feet off the ground.
And I’m hearin’ what you say,
But I just can’t make a sound.
You tell me that you need me,
Then you go and cut me down…
But wait…
You tell me that you’re sorry,
Didn’t think I’d turn around…
And say…

That it’s too late to apologize.
It’s too late…
I said it’s too late to apologize.
It’s too late.
Yeah!

I’d take another chance,
Take a fall, take a shot for you.
I need you like a heart needs a beat,
But it’s nothin’ new.
I loved you with a fire red,
Now it’s turnin’ blue…
And you say…
Sorry, like an angel
Heaven let me think was you…
But I’m afraid…

It’s too late to apologize.
It’s too late.
I said it’s too late to apologize.
It’s too late.
Whoa!

It’s too late to apologize.
It’s too late.
I said it’s too late to apologize.
It’s too late.

It’s too late to apologize. YEAH!
I said it’s too late to apologize. YEAH!
I’m holdin’ on your rope,
got me ten feet off the ground.

so.. that song. hmm. i was up at UNI staying w/ bryan; but i had a friend staying up there with us too, because it was UNI’s homecoming & i wanted her to go to the football game with me. after the game, me & nicole went to the mall & this song came on the radio & i said, “you know.. if me & bryan ever broke up, i could see this being one of our songs to eachother.” & nicole said, “shut up emily, like you guys will ever break up.” then bryan told me later that night that he didnt think we should be together any more.. & after awhile, i felt this song fit us perfectly. it really & truly was too later for him to apologize. & when i was hurting, i felt.. “i need you like a heart needs a beat, but thats nothing new“.

then.. just last week, i found out a bunch of stuff about darrell; i found out all this stuff he’s lied to me about.. & i felt that this was my song to darrell. if he ever tried to apologize to me, i do feel that i’d be completely clean with him & say, “you know, it really is too late to apologize.” i have yet to see d, & i dont plan on picking a fight with him or anything.. but i could never trust him ever again & i’d probably never be able to be close or hang out with him 1 on 1 ever again. idk.. things are just too weird.

like the saying says. “song lyrics are the words we cannot say“.

You know I’m one of those people who wasn’t a big fan of Darrell’s.
And I won’t lie to you honey, I’m glad you finally got to know the real him.

NOW after saying that….I’m a big believer of walking in someone else’s shoes before you judge them.
NOT saying what Darrell did was right.
of course it wasn’t….but you haven’t lived his life….you don’t know what he has seen or done.
    Or had done to him.
I’M NOT MAKING EXCUSES FOR HIM!!!
I just think, if he ever apologized to you, that you could be nice and accept the apology, and maybe even say….I would like to trust you again, but it may take a long time.
And then that way the door isn’t permenetly closed.
Like I told you a while back with Bryan…that door is closed.
Well with Darrell the door is closed too.
They both did you wrong and it is up to them to knock on that door.
IF they don’t…then they don’t….if they do….then and only then can you decide if you want to answer their knocking.
Answering the door doesn’t mean you have to start off where you ended, or even that you will be friends or something more again.
Answering the knock is being a friend.
Which is what you said you wanted from both guys after the pain left you.
So….even though you are justified in being mad and upset…..it is never to late to apologize.
And being the sweet gracious young lady that you are…..accepting an apology is allowed.
It doesn’t mean you will forgive or forget…..it might just be that they need to say it, to ease their own minds.
But…..you can decide all of that if and when either boy comes knocking on your door.
    :)
    Love you!!
